Resisting the Anti-LGBTIQ+ Offensive in Indonesia

Anti-LGBTIQ+ repression in Indonesia is escalating. President Prabowo Subianto's government has intensified its anti-LGBTIQ+ agenda by framing the "spread of LGBT culture" as a national security threat. At the same time, the Indonesian Ulama Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia, MUI) is pushing for legislation to criminalize LGBTIQ+ activities and silence public advocacy. Together, these developments are creating new risks for queer communities and those defending their rights.

Join activists from Indonesia to discuss the current political situation, the pressures LGBTIQ+ communities face, strategies of resistance, and how we can build meaningful transnational solidarity.
