our colleagues from ETAN in New York have raised a petition to withdraw the World Statesman Award to Indonesia’s President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The Award was given by the New York based Appeal of Conscience Foundation. Given the situation of religious freedom in Indonesia and the President’s role in it the Foundation’s choice is “bizarre” say Jeremy Menchik in tablet.mag.
